They are on Tik Tok by Ke$ha, Whataya Want From Me, Fifteen, and other big CHR songs. Less 80s now as well. Could Jeff and Shaun be getting closer to more 90s and Now?

lovejamminoldies, you're not alone in your sypnosis of Mix 107.7 and the 80s that they play. A lot of 80s tunes have suffered severe burn with me, i.e. "Jessie's Girl", "Come On Eileen", "Tainted Love", etc. I am sick to death of these tunes. I would try to spin some stuff from the later part of the 80s(i.e. stay with 86 and later) if i'd play the 80s at all. The late 80s had a lot of great music that a lot of stations haven't played in years, and most likely because some of it doesn't test well. I'd much rather hear tunes from the 80s like "Blue Jean" by David Bowie, Bobby Brown "Rock Witcha" and "West End Girls" by the Pet Shop Boys than the ones listed above.lovejamminoldies said:That's been in the talk for years. 945 will be Prem Choice until it dies. Maybe 1065 could actually be something good. 1077 needs to dump the 80s altogether. I know I'm not their target demo, but when I hear an 80, I turn it off. At least Mix 1079/Columbus, when they play 80s, they're HUGE familiar hits, even with the young crowd.
106.5 has a huge signal, but with it being out of Greenville and being positioned as a Dayton station, it'll never mean much to the Dayton market...HOWEVER, someone in the Greenville/Western Indiana area could get ahold of it and put the right format on there(Country isn't the best option IMHO), it could be a powerhouse for that area. Until then, it will be a meaningless Satelitte-fed 50,000 watt signal. :'(lovejamminoldies said:That's been in the talk for years. 945 will be Prem Choice until it dies. Most likely, observers have indicated if Mix adopted a strategy similar to WNCI/Columbus, they could do very well as an "Adult CHR" station. Which would be a good alternative to Hot 102-9's younger, urban sound. (The only problem is: Jeff may have to give up the 80's, and I know it's his passion and love. But, times change. And radio changes.)
Otherwise, it would leave an opening for a Mainstream Adult CHR. Mix has done reasonably decently in the battle with Fly 92-9...but Fly has managed to divide the A/C listening audience, and both Mix and Lite have suffered for it.
