MIX 92.9's VERY OWN KING OF PM DRIVE CELEBRATES THE BIG 40

Very very VERY special day in raydio history.

SEPT 12. A mere 40 years ago, the now-Nashville based radio legend Bryan Sargent began his (paid) career in the glorious era of broadcasting. The average radio career now lasts 40 days (and 30 nights.) Quite a feat, Sarge. No other human has played so much Celine Dion and survived. You have all but perfected Mix 92.9 (and previously KX104 and Star 106!) For those of us who know and love you, we all know you are a head bangin full-throttled hard metal rock lover. But, you tone it down for Neil Diamond and of course, Rupert. I think you have been on the air longer than any other in Nashville at this juncture. Maybe Romer is a bit longer?

All joking aside, Sarge. Way to go and congratulations. It's an honor and a pleasure to call you a dear friend. Not many folks are as fine and down to Earth, as you! Buddy won't let me take you to Krystal to celebrate. So it looks like we can upscale it....Cracker Barrel. "I've got a coupon!"

I haven't done a regular on-air shift since December 2010...but a 20+ year run on-air @ WSIX was
way more than I could have expected: and I wasn't micro-managed thru any of it! How cool is that?

In todays radio world, there aren't too many local radio personalities with a long history in the Nashville market. Sarge is surely an I-con here. Congratulations Brian.

Sarge is a mentor and great friend to me, and someone I have a ton of respect for. It's an honor to work with him.

All the best, Sarge! Go for 40 more; you'll still crush it.

Doug Hannah, Mix 92.9

Never met him..but I do remember him well at Kixx 104..when life was a rock...and radio rolled us..Kudoo's to ya man...BTW..Rupert did another song..LOL
