Molly Ivins 1944-2007: radio edit of 2003 appearance at UW-Madison

...with the news of Molly Ivins' passing today, I looked around the Web for audio of any of her radio appearances. What I came across is a radio edit, with the saltiest of her terminology bleeped, that WORT in Madison made of her address to an audience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus in May 2003. The URLs for the four mp3 files are:

http://ftp.radio4all.net/pub/archive/05.12.03/ivins1.mp3 (introduction)

http://ftp.radio4all.net/pub/archive/05.12.03/ivins2.mp3 (first part of address)

http://ftp.radio4all.net/pub/archive/05.12.03/ivins3.mp3 (second part of address)

http://ftp.radio4all.net/pub/archive/05.12.03/ivins4.mp3 (questions to Ivins from audients)

...it truly is some funny stuff...

Did not know she had passed away. I am rather conservative, probably would not agree with her on a single issue, but I know she had fought a long and hard battle with cancer. My prayers are with her family.

I liked Molly, despite some major philosophical difference (I was with her 100% on the war, however). She was a gadfly, and we can't have enough gadflies.

Most revealing that none of the mp3 files carry any implication of right-wing shock troops shouting her down. And this at a school with a brilliant history of other speakers being so treated.

Or was it just careful editing?
