As far as I understand its the FBI that actually arrested Guisti.
 
This thread gets at one of the dilemmas of life.

The "rules of society, the rules of civility" are based on how people of normal, common psychological make-up will react. Most of us have no ability (maybe no want-to) to comprehend the mind of someone who does not have normal, common psychological make-up.

What responsibility, if any, does society have to accommodate someone who has a psychological make-up that is "outside the box"? Who gets to decide who is normal and who is "nutty as a fruitcake". ***

For those of us who function somewhere in the range of what is considered "normal" psychological make-up, we know that broadcasting catering to the far-right and the far-left is simply what the sports people call "trash talk". What do we as a society do, if anything, when we recognize that some trash-talk is triggering the wackos of the world.

*** Footnote: I had a psychiatrist sitting at my dining table one night who commented that he had a patient to deal with that week who was "nutty as a fruitcake". I asked him if that was a technical term. Yes, he said. It's in the manual. Nutty as a fruitcake. Since then "Is that in the manual?" has become a bit of family humor at our house.
