More Christian Radio coming to Columbus... I bet..

Was looking at FCC data thru recnet earler and came across this station:

That's the specs from recNet..

Looking at the location they will be on Channel 6's Tower on stimmel rd.

Wonder what this station will broadcast, its licesse is:
CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING SERVICES, INC
1630 STRATHSHIRE HALL PL
POWELL OH 43065

I smell satellator! They have till 2008 to "construct it" according to the CP.

In other news, the pirates will have to find another spot as 91.5 wont work well for them anymore.

Wow, people have been trying to get that frequency for a while. What's interesting is that it's a regualar non-comm FM with real calls @ 340 watts. They could originate programming if they wanted, although I highly doubt it. It's not a bad metro-coverage signal. Probably best for car radios though.

Coverage should be similar to what radiou had when they started out with 800 watts from the same place.
______________

Yeah I know there have been multiple apps for 91.5 over the years, including Cederville and others... It's interesting to see someone ive not heard of before get the license.

Yeah their coverage will not be bad, I just guessed on it becoming a "satalator" but someone could do a full FM set up though. Honestly I'd rather see a local Christian programmed station than EMF, BBN, CDR, AFR, yada yada get this one... but consdieirng how the LPFM in Deleware went to a Sat-a-lator. Im afraid intoday's world money talks :( so I wont get my wish.

This could be a good way for the Catholic broadcast company mentioned in an earlier post to break into the Columbus market at minimal cost.

That address belongs to a Robert Casagrande, who I believe is/was Chopper 4 pilot Robb Case who has also owned stations hot 105 and hot 107. I believe he helps with or is involved in the Spanish station in Delaware.

I hope not.. I listened to WUCO driving home tonight and the programming is not that great... There was a call in show on and the lady told the young man that called in "You'd make a bangin' good priest, so go for it" I felt like it was Power 107 meets the pope!

I've heard of interest in buying it off of him - we'll see if that transpires.

Pretty much the same programming as 740 in Newport, KY?
______________
Did the Corinthians ever write back?

Long involved story, but Salem has been using the WHKC calls on a variety of its AM stations around Cleveland, including 1440 Warren at one time, then 1420 Cleveland until it could get the orignal WHK call re-assigned to 1420.
