More Music, More Variety and now more Delilah on Coast FM

I know the Delilah fans on this board are going to like this and I am not sure how long this has been going on but WSNE has started Delilah at 7:00 rather than joining her in progress at 8:00.

More Delilah??? Less would have been Best. Oh well..... it's not like anybody is forcing me to listen to that drivel anyway. At my house there is No Delilah. So things sound pretty good in here! ;-)

I still think Coast FM needs to play more dance music, less rock and no country. Delilah, just saying her name makes me go YUCK!!! A great upbeat station, which still need musical work because for some very strange reason they are still playing Sarah Mclaughlin's Angel which sounds so out of place. As Cox Cable's Digital Max says "Ditch the dial-up", I say Coast FM needs to DITCH THE DELILAH.

They're mellowing out at Coast and even if they weren't, Angel is a staple on both mainstream and hot ac. I think the problem is they shift musical focus constantly although none of the shifts have been all that drastic. I don't like the softer sounds but whatever they do, they should just stick with it for a while. Hopefully their new PD will stay longer than a couple of years. I've heard songs like You Shook Me All Night Long by ACDC under the Peck regime which I think was a mistake unless they go full-fledged hot ac which they're not. Frankly I'd rather see them go the route of MIX98.5 in Boston but I don't think that's the route they're headed. And as far as recent speculation on a Whoopi morning show I don't think that will happen. I think Whoopi's success has to be tested in other markets before you see too many stations sign up.

I also would like to see Coast 93.3 go more of a hot AC direction like Mix 98.5 or even 96.5 WTIC-FM Hartford. Lite 105 listeners are less likely to station flip and even realize that 93.3 is playing much of the same music, while PRO-FM listeners station flip more and actually listen to 93.3, if it were to be playing some more current music. I remember in the early 90s when it seemed 93.3 was going right after PRO-FM and it seemed that the playlists were almost identical. If 93.3 were to shift more current, and drop Delilah (which it really should), then maybe Tony Bristol and Citadel will actually run PRO-FM like an actual top 40 station, instead of a station that teeter-totters between top 40 and hot AC.
