More Sports Radio Coming To Jacksonville?

Seems someone is kicking the tires and thinking we don't have
enough sports talk.

The FCC shows a CP for an upgrade to 50kw day and 30kw night
(directional day/night with six towers west of Baldwin.

So, what's the buzz?

What's up with all this new religious pay-to-pray rubbish on WJGR? I wouldn't think the coming ownership of 1320 would keep their sorry format, would they? Seems the small audience they do have could be kept for a competitor to the aforementioned WOKV. Glenn Beck, Dr. Laura, Laura Ingraham (and with her perhaps Michael Savage), Dave Ramsey and some other halfway decent talkers are available, plus the possibility of local talk for the all syndicated 690/106.5/

Jacksonville has to be the worst AM market in the top 50, maybe top 75.

This is primarily because there's always some "preacher" or "entrepreneur" ready to wave a couple of dollars
at some underbuilt AM facility to run their amateurish program.

How about a law that bans AM facility upgrades in Jax until someone figures out a way to deliver Nighttime Interference Free coverage over the entirety of Jacksonville - Duval County?

Now that KDWN is actually trying to be a radio station, Jax could loop Vegas on the racetrack of rancid radio.
