Morning Rave alluded to college kid who died in '05

In a story filed 5 hours ago by Juliet Williams of the Associated Press, and I quote the article from what cops heard on the tape. "At one point the DJs even alluded to a college student who died during a similar stunt in 2005!" That is more damning evidence than the warning from the nurse who called in.

Some posters on this board have had the audacity to blame the late Jennifer Strange for not stopping when she heard that before mentioned nurse call and say the stunt could be fatal. All the poor victim heard was the DJ joke and say "They all signed releases, we're not responsible, we're OK!" In other words "Our butts are covered!" How do I know that is all she heard? Because the contestants obviously weren't wearing head phones.

Just thought some of you who are feeling sorry because the Morning Rave and everyone else involved in this contest have to live the rest of their lives with this, might want to know about the college student. Their knowledge of his or her death 2 years ago wasn't significant enough to make someone speak up in the morning show meeting and say "Wow maybe we shouldn't do this contest. Somebody might die!"

It was a different set of circumstances. Being Hazed, and Volunteering for a Contest are TWO different things. She had the ability at ANY time to stop, and no one would have gotten in her way of stopping...When you are hazed, you may as well be kidnapped.

And now with the Strange's Attorney filing paperwork with the FCC about "investigating" the incident, it states that the late Mrs. Strange worked in a MEDICAL OFFICE! Wouldn't SHE of all people had more of a clue about when she should stop? Or had access to that information OR, wouldn't someone from her office, like a doctor maybe, have said something to her? Maybe she was told and she threw caution to the wind, like so many contestants do.

It was a PERSONAL ENDURANCE contest...and a tragic accident happened. Entercom should have had a trained health care professional on site, they didn't and should be held accountable for that. But Mrs. Strange more than likely knew of the inherent risks and failed to yield to them.

If someone running in a marathon dies of dehydration, or water intoxication does the family have the right to sue the organizers? Well they have a right to sue, but is it right?
