Morning Shows in the Greensboro Market

I am reading a lot of posts of Aunt Eloise and the TQR morning show and The WOLF but with the latest ratings book out I think this market should focus on QMG and The Tom Joyner Morning show versus Kiss FM's Steve Harvey show (interesting battle) and what is going on with the ratings of 102 JAMZ Morning show and do you all think there will be any changes in the Urban Market any time soon?

I hate to say it but Triad morning radio is pretty boring all around. Thank God for XM or I would be going out of mind on the way to work in the morning. And the local radio people keep wondering why people are going to sat radio?

I listen to..bob & the showgram...chris & chris (a lot!!!), russ parr (whenever I can get WQOK) and The wildout wakeup show..in that order....

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Murphy in the Morning. Like Jack and the gang or not, they've got a very strong following in the Triad!

It should be interesting to see if Steve Harvey's show on WMKS overtakes 'QMG's Tom Joyner as it has in many markets and what impact that'll have on 'QMG's ratings. If anyone has the morning ratings, please share.

I've never liked Jack Murphy (too bigoted for my taste), but I have to hand it to him...he's a survivor! He's really lasted and considering he's on a young, young, station, it amazes me that he's had such staying power. I think his show prep is impeccable and I would say that's what's lacking in so many morning shows in our area. I also think he has great instincts about what people want to discuss. Now the positions he takes are another story.

MKS is getting close to QMG in afternoon drive, however, with WQMG being 2nd and MKS being 3rd.

I think QMG is slipping in the afternoon because of Busta Brown. There is too much talk during his show and very little variety in the music playlist. I think his show is trying to be so much like Michael Baisden who is on opposite of him on Kiss-FM. As for the rest of the day I think QMG rules.

AMEN to the local Buzzard morning show. There are too many talented people in that building that could give C&C a run for their money. If VBZ would get a good local show, it'd be over for Rock 92. Morning drive is the only daypart they own vs VBZ to my knowledge.

It'll take some time for MKS to catch QMG. They're making strides in the right direction though. I used to love Busta Brown on 102. It's just not the same with his show now. Speaking of 102...UGH that morning show has fallen downhill too! I used to enjoy it, but now it sounds like half of them are asleep and the other half are mumbling so bad I can't understand them. Someone PLEASE do an urban station in the area so 102 will tighten up!

Murphy would be better without the others on the show. It's too much HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA over one little joke. I agree, he's done well to stay in the game, but I can't listen because of the others on the show.

But of course, I've never gotten an arbitron survey, so I doubt anyone cares what I think!

Oh! I know a morning show that would be killer up in Greensboro. A perfect variation of personalities that dominated on a small non-commercial college station but now, they are no more. Sad, really...
