Earlier in this thread someone mentioned "a graceful exit". I tried that once, gave 3 weeks notice at a station and was fired immediately and escorted out of the building. Fortunately my new station was thrilled and I was working there the next day, at a higher salary. So I got the last laugh anyway, graceful of not. Radio, it's not just a job, it's an adventure!

Ricks exit was top notch. Gave us a good notice and worked it out. No need to cut him loose, earlier than what he planned.
Rob was classy on his exit as well. Sometimes management doesn't care and they just cut 'em off at the knees.

I didn't want to let anyone go at Christmas. It would have been easier, payroll wise and all. But, we just don't like doing that.

Jon, that is absolute class on your part!!! I've lost several jobs - both in radio & out - a week before Christmas... It sucks... If only the "biggies" would follow your lead & not dump all over the holidays...

Thanks, Ken.

Its just that i TRY to do right. Sometimes the human nature thing gets in the way. I remember what its like to work for someone else in this industry and how many times we were jerked around by religious broadcasters. In some instances, i was treated better by the big companies like Gannett.
