MORTEN-SON-OF-A...THANKS FOR KILLING 1600AM

Catching up on older posts....

One thing that this post reminds me of is the fact that there are a lot of brokered AM's out there that have had leases expire for the time. Information that I received indicated that 1600 was one of those stations that had their brokered programming move to another frequency.

Lets think about it.. there are several AM's in this market that are available for sale or broker or both.

1190
1480
1600

There may be more out there. I think 990 is brokered but not 100 percent sure.

1190 has been for sale for some time. It's still a decent signal, and you can hear it in W Texas at night (just not in Plano).

So, its not so much that 1600 dropped the AC format..... more a case of one broker left, they filled the time, and another broker came in.

Just my $.02

John
