Colorado Springs/Pueblo Mountain Country KQSC 1530/107.3 switches to simulcast of Pueblo's KDZA

Mountain Radio Group has dropped the Red Dirt focused Country format on KQSC/K297BQ (AM 1530/FM 107.3) in favor of simulcasting KDZA/K270CM (AM 1230/FM 101.9) and their Classic Hits format.
KDZA also added the old recordings of Wolfman Jack and will be heard on Saturday Nights.

As for when the change took place, I'm not sure.

Last time I heard it two weeks ago, it was still "Mountain Country". The 1530 signal barely makes it to my part of Denver, but I have been able to hear it outside the house with the more sensitive radios. I was out of state last week; this week it's been cold and snowy for the most part, so I haven't done much AM listening at all.

1530 was heard every day right after sunrise and right before sunset in Laramie, WY when i lived there 4 years ago.. quite well too

I'll have to try it around sunset, then. I really don't want to go outside to get away from electrical noises right now. It is warmer today, but DIA had 20 inches of snow from Thursday to Saturday and the reporting station nearest my house had almost 16½ inches. Colorado being Colorado, it will probably all be melted by Tuesday but it might give daytime DX a little boost with all that moisture.

Makes sence to do this as KDZA was the market leader in the last ratings period. I am sure this helps the coverage in Colorado Springs a lot as KQSC is 15,000 Watts daytime and KDZA is only 1,000 watts.
I would say the 97.7 translator in Pueblo is not needed anymore inless it serves another part of the city of pueblo that 101.9 does not reach well.

I know Pueblo and Colorado Springs have been a combined market in TV for a long time, but are they the same market in radio, or separate? It appears that most full-power FMs cover both, thanks to Cheyenne Mountain, which would put more limited-coverage stations at a disadvantage.

id wager a good portion of KDZA is voicetracked and the AM signal doesnt matter a ton, they wanted it for the translator(s).... KQSC has or had one on 97.7 as well i think?

plus, hjow the hell has an AM< with just a translator beat out everyone else in pueblo.. is everyone else that bad?

And yes, pueblo and colorado springs are different markets
