MTV Movies and TV Awards is officially off for 2024 but will returning in 2025

Oh look, someone not in the audience doesn’t think something not for them should exist.
The network is a shell of it self. Just a waste of a transponder at this point. Why do they still have a video music awards, when is the last time they played a music video.

It’s not for anyone at this point.
Hey now there's always that group of 5–10 people that want to watch endless rerun blocks of Ridiculousness, give them a chance

But in all seriousness, MTV needs to reinvent themselves. There are hints this is the case with their presence on social media and the potential to be on Pluto TV. But as a linear television channel? Not really.

MTV mainly a label within Paramount+ at this point. I don't think the transponder part is empathsized now as it did in the past. It's the stuff we called cable channels today are being repositioned as labels within the owners flagship TV app.

We have to go back to this one when Paramount shutdown the Showtime app as part of a move to make Showtime a label within the Paramount+ app.
