Music Choice replaces Soft Rock with Christmas music

As of 3 AM this morning (11/1/09), Music Choice has placed 24/7 Christmas music on its Soft Rock channel. This is the first time they have done this. I am assuming the Soft Rock channel will return after Christmas.

They reshuffled their lineup, eliminating their Showcase channel, which housed Christmas oldies during the holidays (while the Sounds of the Season channel had the contemporary Christmas music). It sounds like the Sounds of the Season channel has the oldies, while the Soft Rock channel has the contemporary songs.

Since 99% of the soft rock/AC radio stations go all-Christmas, I guess they assumed they could do the same thing and place 24/7 Christmas over the Soft Rock channel.

I don't think it's that bad. My understanding is that B-106 in Columbia, SC doesn't go all Christmas.

XM seemed to have separate channels for the two formats, so I assume that's still the case this year.

Only one problem...now there's no channel for soft rock music!
It's like Muzak turning FM1 to all christmas. Why didn't they take one of the other less popular channels?

Agreed. Put Christmas muzak on Easy Listening where it belongs! :)

Don't touch easy listening!

Although I don't spend that kind of money.

I disagree..... EASY LISTENING IS THE BEST STREAM THEY HAVE!! (And 1 of the only PRE 1980 "EASY" formats still out there)

I listen quite often!!
