My Live 365 Station flips to ALL 80's, And Gets LOTS of Listeners!!

I experimented. I played 50's to 80's oldies, 60's, 70's and 80's Top 40 and Rock.
Now this month it's ALL 80's, ALL The Time, and i have listeners all day and night. I hit 15 listeners one day list week. During the work day hours i average up to 10 listeners! I keep playing everything 80's, including the songs people say they hate, and it works!!

I'm not familiar with the listening habits of streaming stations but are 10 and/or 15 listeners worth crowing about? It seems those numbers are substantially fewer than 'niche'.

Or, perhaps you are saying that the other formats had only 3-5 listeners and now you're up to a whopping 10-15? I'm not sure.

One question though.....assuming your streaming station is not just a hobby how do 10-15 listeners make it worthwhile?

The package i paid for only allows 20 listener slots! The next one up is 40. But that's another $20 per month.
I don't even know why i still play with this, because to make any money at it, it cost a lot!

i've toyed with the idea of throwing up a station on live 365..but seems like a lot of listeners is an expensive proposition..here's some questions..if you have a max of 20 listeners does one have to tune out before another new listener can tune in ? are you doing a live show ? what software are you using to program your music ? as a pro rock jock from the 60's/70's..it would be hard to get excited for such a few listeners..not a slam on you..just the low threshold that live 365 allows..chuck lundi

I used to have a live365 80s station that would adverage 40ish during the business day. The costs from them kept going up until I was paying over 50 dollars a month for a 56k stream. The final straw for me was when they hosed a football game broadcast for me, which was one of the reasons I streamed in the first place. Their goofy software wanted title and artist info or it wouldn't work. They are so concerned about bowing to the riaa it's pathetic. I am quite sure the majority of that 50 a month went the the record thives. I just decided one day it wasn't worth it anymore after that live event blunder. They are too expensive for what they offer and restrict.

I closed my station also. Foe $44.95 per month you only get an 8 hour playlist at 128 kbps and every song must be tagged with album, album picture and link to amazon. Too much work, and no listeners!

One thing I like about this site is that people can come up with some great alternatives for links and sites, especially that's related with this board and the industry. I hope this site works. I will try it out. It sure beats discussing transexuals.
