My new favorite radio station to listen to in the car is.........

My Ipod hooked up to a 10 dollar FM transmitter from Walmart. The signal is crystal clear.Over 1000 songs to choose from the 60's to today being heavier on the 70's and 80's.Professional sounding segues in random mode with no commercials.Best of all if I don't like the song that is playing I can hit the next button.

Go with the $10 model. It works better than the more expensive ones.I have two of them and the cheaper one is better.

Now that I have read my post. This sounds like the fate of B101.Hook one up to the transmitter in Shuffle mode and save on rent at the ghetto-plex.Don't laugh I am sure some genious somewhere in this world has already done this.

My favorite station is WRNI, Rhode Island's public radio station. It's amazing how much local
news they're covering these days. Theyre all over the place. Check it out. 1290 am in the
Providence area: 102.7 FM in South County. All the news of the day in a truly fair and balanced
way. As Mikey would say: "Try it. You'll like it."

Amen to that ! ! ! ......It's not even close! 1290/102.7 stands head and shoulders above the competition when it comes to comprehensive coverage of the goings-on in the area.

It's a resource I've come to depend on in my travels by car, for sure...

Whats the brand name of your FM transmitter that you got for your Ipod for 10 dollars at walmart?

I know that I bought a $10 Maxell transmitter at Rite-Aid that transmitted anything from my computer to any FM radio in the house. Problem was that the sound quality wasn't up to par with what I want. I just bought it as an experiment. I loved being able to listen to stations from across the nation while in other rooms away from the computer. But I hated the tinny sound quality. I didn't expect miracles for the money. I just wanted to see what it would do. After I saw what it did, I brought it back along with the batteries it took and got a refund. Figured I would put that money towards a real FM transmitter that sounds good. They arn't that expensive. I know of two excellent ones for only $99

It's theone they sell in the automotive section with a blue light on it.Working in Foxwoods(now laid off) radio signals are tough to get.the only stations you can pull in sometimes are Fuller's Jammin and depending upon how high you are WBMW.
Well anyway,Last summer someone brought in one of these FM transmitters hooked up to thier ipod and every radio in the surrounding area of like 100 feet could listen.Crystal clear.I bought the more expensive one that is sold in the electronics section for I think 20 or 25 dollars with a digital screen and it sucked. The only way it worked was to place it directly on top of the radio no more than like 3 inches.Yes, 3 inches. So that ended up in the trash after wrestling with that in the car.Hanging it from the mirror and moving it all around as Im trying to drive.
