MyFM is now a 1.6 in the latest ratings...

http://ratings.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/arb055

How long are they going to let this mess at 100.5 go on??? They killed Gen-X for "poor ratings" because they were typically hovering around a 2.5, but My FM has been on a solid down slide since last January (which even though they were officially still called Gen-X at that time, they had already begin transitioning into My FM). A 1.6 on a station like 100.5 is the type of situation where you do a major format change without even really thinking about it (100.5 The Beat, perhaps?)... yet I somehow feel like they're going to drag their feet with My FM.

I'm guessing we won't know what is going on with WGHL until the end of the quarter.

I have said it before but iHeartMedia should move The Fox back to 100.5.They have a 2.0 on a crappy signal and I'm sure that they would do even better being back on 100.5.
WLGX needs to move to 93.1 and change to anything but what they are now.How about A/C or better yet Soft A/C.I really miss WESI 105.1.Or they could put WKRD on 93.1 to compete with 93.9.WKRD has 2.1 on AM! They just need to do something.I would be embarrassed getting beat in the ratings by WAY-FM and The Fox especially when 100.5 is one of the best signals in town.

Personally I'm in favor of bringing back Louie... from what I remember (and correct me if I'm wrong), Louie always did decently at 100.5 and was pretty much killed after one bad quarter.

I've thought of that too.And the WLUE call letters are available.I would just want them to be like they were when they started and not what they were like before they switched to Gen-X Radio.

I would be in for bringing Louie back to 100.5. It reminded me of Mix 94.5 before they went all soft rock.

KRD on 93.1 would be good idea.

I wonder what the answer is to QMF's ratings. They sound better then 107.7 IMO, but always lose in the ratings.

Speaking of Louie/My FM, I found this interesting post on the boards from 2009, when Louie FM was about to get a format change and went to Gen-X (but nobody was sure what the new format would be yet):

One of the guesses for what was going to happen to 100.5 back in 2009 was... "A Mix type station with Valentine in the Morning, he's going on
WLIT Chicago and WMVX in Cleveland, why not add Louisville, My 100.5"

Funny how these brands just bounce around over the years and just find the right time to land in the right market (or wrong time for the wrong market in the case of My FM).

Looks like they are eliminating or at least greatly reducing songs and artists from the 90's and beyond. I don't think people aren't listening because they are playing these songs. They aren't listening because they play the same songs over and over.
I know this works for SFR, but that is why I have always listened to QMF instead. Their playlist was always bigger. Tightening the playlist will just make things worse. I won't listen if they keep taking away songs.

Great idea, REDUCE your playlist. I will remove them permanently from my preset.

Updated today...

Looks like WVEZ and WSFR had very nice jumps (maybe both are benefiting from not sharing any listeners with 105.1 for the first time in almost two years?), and WLGX is still a failure (but on the bright side, they're at the same level of failure for P2 as P1, and didn't fall anymore this time).

Mainline (and now Alpha) has a tendency to only pay for their numbers at the end of each quarter and not these updates in between, so we're always left with a missing gap of about 1/4 of the serious radio stations here each time. They should be in there next time.

In diary markets, there are some stations that do not subscribe to the Arbitrends service and just buy the quarterly book. This saves them money, and still gives them the full 3-month quarterly book. What they do not get are the "rolling averages" from Arbitrends. The trends are not "updates" but a combination of one or two months from the previous book and two or one months from the current "book in progress". Since the data is not fully weighted and proportional, it can be very wobbly and erratic.

Welcome to my hometown board of kentucky david edwardo. Your always a wealth of information and it is much appreciated.

So the winter 2015 numbers are in and....

http://ratings.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/arb055

MyFM has a 1.3 share! And here I was, making a big deal about how bad the 1.6 in the P1 and P2 was. They're lost about half of their audience since changing from Gen-X, and if you want to throw Louie 100.5 in there, they've lost about 2/3 of the audience that Louie typically had. I'm amazed they're even letting this keep going on, I think the only question is when they'll do a format change and what could they even do that works.

Even more awful for MyFM, WKJK, with their hodgepodge of miscellaneous stuff that isn't fit to be aired on any radio station that anybody listens to, is the only station below them, and they have a 1.2 share. So WLGX and WKJK have the same size audience (though I would imagine that WLGX has a more lucrative audience)

Also, the Alpha Media group stations are included this time as expected. WGHL seems to be doing fine, although I sort of expected better. What is even better (for Alpha, anyway) is that WGZB didn't take a hit, and actually went up.

Maybe 100.5 could change to a "Country Legends" type of format that 103.9 used to have? I see that 103.9 The Hawk keeps dropping after switching to True Country.I still think that The Fox or Louie should return to 100.5 and a simulcast of WKRD 790 be put on 93.1. Other things I noticed is how WVEZ made a big jump. I'm sure that's because of the Christmas music. And WQMF keeps getting trounced in the ratings by 107.7 (Why are they still WSFR?)
It's kind of sad to see the once mighty "Big Old Funky Q" as Terry Meiners used to call them sink to new lows.
I do think it's kind of fun to see that the bottom four stations are iHeartMedia stations.

We seem to have a country ICON's war here in Lexington. Why not 100.5 My Country Icons?

I would thought 1080 would get good ratings with Tom Leach and KSR. They just need to make 1080 a Kentucky sports station. To complete with the Louisville station or maybe put it on 100.5.

When discussing Lachlan's departure, Tony Vanetti kept reiterating that sports coverage will be expanded in the iHeart cluster and that there are several FM stations that they could switch to sports.
