Mysterious Hip Hop pirate on 87.9 in the Lowell Area

There's a mysterious Hip Hop pirate I'm getting on my Jensen HD Radio on 87.9, They're branding themselfs as "91.1 The Beat" and playing popular Hip-Hop with other songs mixed in I don't know. I live in Tyngsboro, two seconds from Lowell, I'm guessing they're from somwhere in or around Lowell.

First time I have heard this pirate, theyre fairly static on my home radio.

Definately a Pirate, they played "Bedrock" by Young Money twice in one hour. I don't think it could be Tropo from a Boston pirate.

Darn I wish I was at my mom's and Nashua. Then I could tell you if its coming from the Lowell or Nashua area. Could it be someone using a part 15 transmitter to re-transmit an internet stream of some sort? I know I caught a pirate on 87.9 from New Hampshire before branding themselves as Party 87.9 with liners making fun of 87.9 The Wave such as one that said "Party 87.9 (An oldies song clip) definitely not your fathers radio station" it had a dance format sort of like Pulse but I only heard it once and never again. I even have an aircheck somewhere of the broadcast.

I can get Hot 87.7 spotty at best on my car radio, but I can't get them on this indoor radio. This was definately not them. There was nothing on 91.1, or atleast nothing I could receive.

When I drive into Lowell tomorrow morning I will check 87.9

It's Definitely not a Part-15 relaying an internet station cause I looked up 91.1 The Beat on Google and nothing came up. It could still be a neighborhood Part-15 or something though but you'll have to be on the road to find that out.

Was running too late for work this morning to check them out on my car radio in Lowell :/ Im listening to this station on my iPod FM tuner right now, they are spotty in my house but if I stand near an outlet or window they come in fine.

I heard a Sweep that said "87.9 The Beat" today, so maybe they used to be on 91.1 and just moved to 87.9? They seem to not always play clean versions of songs. I am very curious as to the origin of this pirate.

Lastnite a dj made a reference to the station being on facebook so maybe they have a web presence there?

Yes they are encoding RDS, I forgot to add that.

Big City 101.3 does.

I heard The Beat today driving through Plaistow, NH. It was down in the noise and tough to hear but I briefly heard hip-hop music on 87.9. I know it wasn't Hot 87 cause I flipped over and there was a commercial on.

I haven't heard them in a few days, maybe they reduced power or something.

HOT97Boston (87.7) and 87.9 The Beat don't interfere, As Hot 87.7 barely makes it to the Nashua/Lowell area, and 87.9 The Beat seems to be from somewhere in this area.

Also, I highly doubt that dance pirate on 87.9 is running 250 watts, I live very close to Nashua and have never heard them in my life.
