I have decided that the money and effort put into running two radio stations is too much.. Im not getting enough listeners and its taking up all my time and money.. Im just no good at anything,, I can never compete with stations like Energy 98,, DI,, 1club, Fusion, 96.7 Party, M1Live,, and countless other great internet and FMs streaming online. If I didnt operate them they would be the last stations I would listen to.. I am going to put the saved money into donating to some charities, as well as Donate to people like Mikeo, and Tonys Coalition,, and my Spared time put into giving these other great stations an extra P1,,, Mainly Energy 98 and Vibe,, but I got love for the other guys too. Its been Fun, but not financially Viable,, It costs so much to stream and pay ropyalties I cant even get a website and keep up with the latest greatest music.. Thanks to KDM and DJ Perry, and Jay R for your support...

Until the magic internet overlords figure out how internet dollars can translate into real dollars, most internet stations are run purely as a loss to the individual's who fund them... I know my station doesn't pull the same numbers as the others, but we got listed on iTunes, have fans, and get label support from most of the majors (except Ultra, those guys are too big time I guess) and it hasn't ran me into the poor house yet!

Plus, even after 6 years, I still enjoy listening to my own stream when I am out and about.

Really it depends on what you are looking to get out of it; if you are going to try and unset the big dogs, you gotta come with with the money and staff to devote 100% of the effort to get the station off the ground. I mean look at "The original Hot 97", Joel was a pioneer at Hot 103/97 back in the day, and has contacts all over he industry, and yet I am betting he is operating at a loss for the most part, and probably doesn't get the numbers 1 fm and Pandora approach.

The Original Hot 97 is still on, but I can tell based on the songs featured on its website that it hasn't been updated since the summer of 2007. Joel puts most of his effort into Pulse 87 online.
