Nashville - Home of the legendary country station, WSN

Did anyone see this ad in AllAccess? Please! I know it's a typo... I know the "N" key is right beside the "M" key... but either this person is incredibly overworked (which is quite possible), or... they're just overworked. Still, the description of the legendary country station and a nod to Dave Ramsey is supposed to impress, but if you can't get the call letters right, it lowers the impression (if that's possible) of a company that only ownership thinks is a great company to work for.

Notice all the requirements tied to "sales", but none tied to "on-air". Yes, that's typical, but that's one of the main issues with the downfall of radio. Very unbalanced.

A short note of clarification, the WS'N' in the AllAccess post mentioned above is NOT 650-AM WSM, the legendary home of the Grand Ole Opry. It is the FM facility owned by Cumulus. WSM-AM is not affiliated with Cumulus. Don't be confused by what appears to be an effort to mislead those reading the ads.

...which doesn't make it legendary AT ALL! It's like Jan Jeffries saying he worked at WLS. It never gets mentioned that he worked for the FM and not the Legendary AM. He's probably the one who wrote the ad!!!

But would the FM be considered "legendary"? Not by me, but I'm a radio outsider, so-

Legendary is a very overused word especially in a town where even record company secretaries think they're celebrities. I laughed Sunday at an ad in the Tennessean with Jeff Fisher for St Thomas Hospital. I'm thinking "ok, the dude is not a doctor, nor has he been a patient there" but somebody in St Thomas marketing got an orgasm getting him to do an vague ad, for a fee.
I know it's off topic. Just thought it was another story that makes you wonder if anybody in corporate America is thinking. We have health care as a big issue now and a hospital implying if I act like Jeff I'll be healthy. Like I really have a choice at where I go for surgery. I'll go wherever my doctor tells not where an ad of Jeff Fisher tells me I ought to go. Just money thrown away. But we do love to worship celebrity.

Don't forget that St Thomas owns Baptist and Baptist is a big Titans sponsor. Probably the reason he is spokesperson for St Thomas.

Nock

Great now you can't be a star spokesman unless you work exclusively for the advertiser? Nock, I guess you and I are out of the hairclub for men
ads...Damn, that means Buddy and Romer are okay to still do the Deja Vu ads...They're still two of the three ugly ones, right? The rich keep getting
richer. (ande Leon keeps getting larger.)

That'll get a response.

Man, it may be Leo. No wonder no one laughs at that joke when I tell it. Good eye RadeoEngineer. I can't hear much anyway because of all the
Celine Dion over the years. Speaking of really bad jokes...anyone remember the line "The Tower...The Tower...?"

"Heritage" is an overused word, too, especially when used to refer to WSM. The Opry is a "heritage" at WSM, but the country format on WSM is not "heritage." It's only been full-time country since the 80s. Granted, that's a long time in one format in this day and age, when stations "flip" and "flop" like a fish out of water, but that still does not quite make WSM a "heritage" station.

"Rapunzel! Rapunzel!"

and it is "Leon is getting larger"...so your memory wasn't the first thing to go

secondary answer for "The Tower...The Tower"...
it's a tall painted structure...with strobeys...but that's not important right now.
