Hmmmm I see Party is down, maybe this urban change is not such a good idea? Perhaps a dance friendly turn could raise the numbers?

or maybe a 'send us your money' gig like (soon to have no)Pulse....

This is bordering on the absurd now...picking on a station that was once dance-heavy, even though it has once again shifted towards urban...and indeed with early numbers showing a decline in the ratings.

How long did Radio X last again, even with its advertising underwriting?

That said, to get this discussion back on track, Party has done this flip-flop to urban (and then back to dance) numerous times before. And it used to be said that they would score higher ratings with urban, which might be what they were counting on again with the recent tweaking. So far it doesn't seem to have helped and may even be hurting them, though it would be useful to see the results from the rest of the summer PPMs to draw a definite conclusion.

That said, it wouldn't be a surprise to see a move towards urban not pay off for Party as it has in the past, considering that the PPM methodology seems to "punish" urban stations and also considering the relative decline in popularity of the genre in recent years.
