Nice article about the future of what is the future for car electronics: http://www.investors.com/editorial/IBDArticles.asp?artsec=17&artnum=2&issue=20070122

Navagation seems to be number one. But how does that relate to HD Radio?

HD Radio is ALREADY transmitting live data that can be overlayed into Garmin systems and onto maps so that people can avoid delays.

So if navagation is popular, once people see that they can have live traffic overlayed onto their maps, IMHO there will be more demand to have HD systems installed.

Sync and next-gen Satellite Radio will put an end to this ! :D HD Radio will never be standard in-dash and is only an overly-expensive option in BMWs. Detroit is not interested in HD Radio.
