Could you imagine what John and Ken in LA or Ziegler on KFI n LA would have done with the NBA thug-a-rama during the All Star game? Or other top talk show host around the country.

But all I heard was a scared wimpy group on kxnt....corpulant Stock was in his normal boot-licking mode when it came to Mayor Oscure Ginman ("The NBA weekend was a success"...guess he didn't get shot in the spine) and the evening guy was walking on egg-shells....

No wonder their ratings are low compared to other talk stations in other markets....they are afraid of controversy.

In fact national show hosts took tough stands on this situation in many cases.

Jerry Doyle took a tough stand. I thought he covered it the best of any talk host, he was not afraid to say it like it is.

I'm curious to know what former NBA All Star weekend host cities and citizens had to say about fans behaviour. Were current actions of some out of control fans the norm for NBA events in the past?
It's a shame some "knuckleheads" "thugs" screw it up for "everybody", that's certainly nothing new. Yeah traffic was a major pain no surprises on that note, but there were good times and experiences had by most. Jay, I wonder if "some" people come to Vegas with attitude to be as rude and disruptive simply because of our reputation of anything goes? And is the "real world" of Las Vegas inside and beyond the Strip as inclusive and progressive as the world is led to believe? Hmm, just a thought.

Do you ever get tired of making things up? Hendrickson was THE one who called it like it was. Didn't you hear the dozens of calls thanking him for being the only one willing to talk about it, and having the guts to call it what it was? He even had several black people on to back him up. No one else even came close to him on that subject. He was the first to say it was a predominantly black problem, and the black community should come out and apologize for the behavior, and the mayor should demand an apology from the NBA. No one else even came close. He even went into the black kkk. Yeah ... walking on egg shells. Good one.

If you work for kdwn - just say it. You don't have to make up stuff about people - just make better programming. You attacked him because he knows IT the other day, and now you are attacking him for having the guts to say what no one else in town would - including Doyle. [EDIT]

[EDIT-inflammatory remark]

Apologize? That's absurd, like asking you (if you are a White citizen in this day and time) to apologize for slavery or aparthied. The misbehavior by a few was embarassing to say the least for all Black law abiding citizens of Las Vegas, and frustrating because we all seem to be painted with the same brush, never fails.

Hendrickerson says he wants a team and it is just the allstar element that is a problem....in Salt Lake you don't have much of a problem...in LA you do...I don't know about other cities ...I think we need Bullfighting in Vegas...

He doesn't even like basketball. I've heard him say he wants an NFL team, but it won't happen.
