NBC GREEN LIGHTS NEW STEVE CARELL COMEDY & NEW ROCKFORD FILES

NBC has given the thumbs up to a new Post Office comedy from Steve Carell (of "Office" fame).
Carell will not star, but write the show (pilot I assume). He will produce the show as well.
Carell will draw upon his early days of working as a mail carrier in Littleton, Mass.

His production company, Carell's Carousel Television is also working on a new ROCKFORD FILES
program for NBC as well. www.deadline.com

Any bets on how long the new Rockford File's gonna last? It seems that almost every revival of a classic TV series (save for Hawaii Five-O, for now) has been cancelled with a year of its debut.

It's not gonna last long unless they can get James Garner to come back.
And that's gonna be hard.

Yeah, I guess it'll be a look alike character.
All the rush to redo shows instead of trying for "next generation" something.
Isn't there ANY show from the past that would work well today if it were the son or
daughter's view on things?
