enhanced reception toward the tri-state area allowed my scan to stop on 104.9 from Iuka/Corinth which is now Kudzu and has the WKZU call sign now. It's off the bird just like 102.3.

102.3 is now WSKK but I can't here them in Memphis no idea what changes have occurred there is any. I did not hear a dual ID though.

I haven't been watching apps lately so I didn't see 104.9 was sold till I heard the call sign today.
The new Kudzu had ads for Pontotoc, New Albany, Booneville, Iuka, and Corinth.
I also heard a pitch for sales calls giving a Tupelo #662-841....

so what's on 102.3 now?
 
I don't live in the area (but used to) so can't hear what's on. Looked at the FCC and from what I see, Scott and Joan Peters (owners of 102.3) bought 104.9 from Billy McClain and changed the calls. The Peters still own 102.3 also. With the tower for 104.9 about in the middle of Iuka, Booneville and Corinth it looks like a nice addition and operable from one business office (economies of scale).

Also if the asset purchase agreement is all there is, I think they got a pretty good bargain (I'm not posting any numbers). Quite possibly less than they paid for 102.3 when they bought it.
 
yes it looks like they did good... I saw found the sale on Broadcasting and Cable... there is definitely potential with the 104.9 signal.
 
I was in the area a few days ago. 102.3 was playing sat feed Oldies Rock.
 
102.3 the Shark, Classic Hits. It is off satellite but not too bad. I love the idea of a North Mississippi Shark! I don't think they have all of the 104.9 Kudzu stuff in place as of yet, but I may be wrong.
 
I live in Ripley, and didn't find out about the change until a few days ago. I like the idea of a different format. Everything around here's been the same basic format for decades - all Country, and all canned. I don't get the idea behind their name "the Shark". I keep expecting to hear the music from Jaws :)
