Recently, CNN had Neil Boortz on sitting with a CNN anchor. Neil was brought in to CNN Atlanta as an "expert". He was terrible! He NEVER looked at the camera! He was studdering, rambling and even the host had a very hard time understanding what Neil said! He was extremly off-topic and one really felt sorry for antbody coming off that way on live T.V. Today, I tuned in the end of Neil`s show and he was screaming talking like a BABY! He was saying "ma ma and da da" while GOING TOTALLY off on a poor caller in to his show. What is going on with Neil? Is he raelly O.K.? I really think that the man may be in severe danger of losing it! His CNN performance was so bad that I highly doubt that he will be back on there! Has anybody else noticed this? Thanks for any insight on this.............

[EDIT-off topic and inflammatory] To your point, however, I'd say Neil is definitely losing his fastball, but we all will eventually.

[EDIT-response to inflammatory remark] It just is painful to watch this once great talent waste away like this. I wonder if You Tube has footage of Neil`s last appaerance on CNN or his meltdown on his show today?

The "Baby Talk" bit was a replay of a previous call, as is done every day at the end of the show. Obviously you tuned in "In Progress" and missed the earlier portion of the call, where the caller proved that he was a real idiot.

That's why the call was replayed!!

GTGO...I didn't see Boortz on CNN, but let's say some of your posts were appearances on CNN, ok? Your performance wouldn't exactly be glowing, either.

(How long do you think it'll be before he replies with some BS about how "people want to know" and supposedly caring if Boortz really is losing it or not?)

Boortz has said on his show numerous occasions that he is a very shy person, that he does not like being on TV and is very anti-social in public. Can you blame the guy for being camera shy? He was on there with Rick Sanchez a few weeks ago too (we may be talking about the same instance); never looked at the camera and was hunched over the whole time. You can disagree with his political views all you want but don't call the guy out for not looking at the camera. He's a RADIO personality for goodness' sake.

I guess my response is why is he going on TV-CNN if he is so shy? I have seen him on other TV interviews over the years and he wasn`t shy at all. I have seen he do very well on tv, in fact? Why do you think that he was hunched over on CNN and didn`t look Rick Sanchez or the camera in the eye? Very strange behavior...........

First let me say as a long time Boortz listener, The old man has still got it. From what I can tell he has the highest rated show on WSB and is still the number one rated show in his time slot (or at least that what he says).

But to my point of posting. It's so obvious that GoodtimesGreatoldies has a axe to grind with not only Boortz but the whole crew. If you don't like the show DONT LISTEN. It's really that simple. I read your posts and threads over the past couple of months and we all know you don't like Boortz, Belinda, or Royal. OK we get that.

So Belinda has a southern accent, guess what? We are in the south. So you don't like her endorsements, the reason she has so many is because her ads are working. If you notice most of her spots have been on the air for at least 2 or 3 years. You want her ads to stop popping up on your computer? Don't listen online. Go fishing, Go play golf, or better yet dust off some lps and play them on your phonograph. Hell I bet you even have some 78's around the house. Play them and remember the good ole days.

[EDIT]

So, now you tell us that Boortz is losing it. Well thanks for the update from the Peanut gallery. [EDIT]

I've read your ill-informed posts for the past 6 months. You suggest GST is going FM. Randy and Spiff will reunite. You've got the inside scoop don't you? You rave about Oldies stations that can't pull a top 10 rating and then rip Neal Boortz who is best talk show host we have in this town. Get a life man. It's a big old world out there.

The caller was kind of stupid, but Boortz handles such callers poorly by trashing them with his anger and arrogance. Not entertaining.

Neal Boortz never Found it, so how in the hell could he lose what he never had?

seriously about Neal. he just happened to be at the right place at the right time. Luck and timing. I think his main problem is that he's forgotten where he came from. He lives in a surreal world and has no idea about those he alienates.

I agree! I think that Boortz has lost touch with where he has come from. He many times appears to have no respect or appreciation for the Atlanta listeners who have made him successful and rich over the years. The meltdown that he had on the Friday show was very sad. He appears to have alot of anger that is affecting his job performance. Why is he so angry? I think that listeners are getting turned off to his constant increasing stream of hatred and anger. His last CNN T.V. appearance was VERY embarrasing, at best.

I've first met Neal more than thirty years ago when he was working part time at wrng radio. He was worried that he didn't really have a job and didn't know what to do. He used to hang around the z93 studios back in the mid 70"s when Barry Chase and I were doing mornings. He always wanted to do what we were doing rather than what he was doing. Neal finally decided to go get some real work so he decided to go to the quickie law school here in Atlanta.

We hung out together. My wife Cyndy and I along with Neal and his wife Donna. They were fun and we had some pretty good times.

We were all searching for something and so we decided to go to a mind control school in Chamblee.

Anyway my point is that Neal was always warm and friendly in his earlier years. In 1978 I left Atlanta to do morning radio in DC and ten years later I came back.

I would see him at events, that we would be at together and he wouldn't even say hi. Well, maybe hi, but that's it. He would totally ignore me and my wife.

Later on I got a part time job reading liner cards at B98 and would see him in the halls once in awhile. Do you think he would even go out of his way to say hi?

Some people forget where they came from and I believe Neal did long ago.

I'm sorry to hear that he's not doing well as far as his on air quality. I wouldn't even wish that on him. You would think his wife would tell him that it's time to step down and renew his friendships with humanity. But I'm sure Cox will try and milk the guy until he dies.

That's my story on Neal.

He is slipping a bit, but still worth his weight in gold.

I think that Neil has burned WAY too many bridges in Metro Atlanta media. I bet that most people at WSB/COX don`t even speak to him any more. It is amazing all of the hate that he throws out. It is sad to see how this amn has fallen. Now, he appears on TV all hunched over, rambling on and on and not looking at the camera or the interviewer. Also, has anybody noticed that Neil`s studdering has gotten worse?

Two things. First besides Scott Woodside's post what other anecdotal evidence is there that Neil Boortz is not liked by his peers? Also, who else saw said TV appearance. There is always two sides of the story. One person might have seen what they wanted to see or perhaps a poor camera angle could have led to this issue.

I saw Boortz on CNN with Rick Sanchez a few weeks ago, and I thought he did fine.

I wasn't going to post but now I feel I have to.

First off, luck? He's been the top rated talk show host in a major market for more than a dozen years due to luck???? He works harder than anyone you'll ever meet. That's why he's been a ratings giant.

As for his peers not liking him, where is that coming from? Clearly not from anyone who has a clue. Neal does things for his colleagues at Cox that go unannounced, but are generous to the point of, in one case, being a life saver. For anyone to suggest that Neal isn't friendly and considerate of the people he works with is absurd and ill informed.

I do so love the people on here who spout about things of which they have no idea.

People also used to think the world was flat. This speculation on your part is truely getting old and sounding more and more like sour grapes on your part.
