New AM last night, new FM tonight! 10/22/17 and 10/23/17

A new graveyarder on AM last night, and now good regional tropo results in another new log. First, to the AM log.

1240 - KLYQ Hamilton, MT; on top of the graveyard mud at 2100 PT 10/22 with promo for Shriner's Hospitals donations and ID 'News Talk 1240 KLYQ Hamilton, it's 10 o'clock' into Fox News. NEW #744, 1KW at 307 miles. Finally bagged this wanted one, at a typical distance for the GY channels. Now to try for KLTZ Glasgow. Mike Cherry up on Vancouver Island has heard them before, and he's farther to Glasgow than I am! (You can find him on the BCB logger most nights).

Very strong signals from Northeastern Oregon and SE WA tonight resulted in a new one as well.
102.3 - KWRL La Grande, OR; very recent flip from 99.9. Backstreet Boys and Sara Bareilles songs followed by a TOH ID 'KWRL La Grande, 102.3 the River' at 11PM PT 10/23. NEW #615, 25KW at 169 miles. La Grande market very rare in the Yakima Valley, only KCMB 104.7 heard before. Noticed 102.3 had a mix of K272ED Kennewick and KHKF Island City OR (near La Grande, Hank FM) several months ago while up near Vantage. Guessing they have finished their CP to move to 92.9.

Yep, Dillon isn't too far away (and I've heard KDBM 1490 a couple of times). It would be nice to hear KBCK/1400 Deer Lodge, which is also in western MT, along with KLCB/1230 Libby. But with a geomagnetic storm now brewing and Northern Lights viewable down into the Dakotas tonight, I'm guessing the eastern conditions will wither away for a while. I'd really love to break some records and try for western ND stations on the graveyards but I think I'm too far. Never know, logged Green River WY on 1490 last year.
