New AM signal coming to San Antonio area soon?

According to filings with the FCC the station formerly known as KHLT Hallettsville is nearing completion of their new four-tower array near their new COL (Stockdale), which will be running 2500 watts daytime only. Meanwhile they've been off the air, but in the narrative for the silent STA it's noted that they expect to be ready to file for a license to cover the change by October 1st. Also of note, for what it's worth, is that the call letters changed earlier this month to KQQB.

I was wondering about them where they would go next. If anywhere.

The KQQB call letters were last seen on a Spokane, WA radio station (now KGZG)....

I don't have time to dig up the links, but there were a few threads about this on the Houston and Texas boards a while back, and how it might affect KYND 1520 in the Houston market. Search for KHLT, KYND and 1520 and those will probably turn up.

What frequency/format will the new channel get? Any ideas?

A 2,500 watt daytime only AM signal originating 35 miles from downtown SA and just two clicks away from KEDA's 5kw signal on 1540? I'm guessing some kind of brokered programs if it makes any attempt to serve SA.

Thanks. I hope it doesn't interfeer with KEDA, but with KEDA's, currently not so good, transmition I don't even know if KEDA will be noticed if another station comes up right next to it.

Since the call letters are going to be KQQB. It will probally be a Que Buena station. A lot of times call letters represent the station's branding. Wasn't KEDA recently sold?

I thought that the FCC will no longer issue daytime-only AM licenses.

Edit---my bad, this was an existing station, right?
