New Bee Gees/Donna Summer station coming to the East Coast?

People are saying that Philadelphia (C.C.'s106.1) is about to get a Bee Gees/Donna Summer station (Rhythmic AC).

"Bad Girls" and "I will survive" is going to played 50 times a day ala WNEW and WKTU in New York.

Philly is about to get a major headache.

I've seen rumors today saying-- WJJZ will flip to Dance and WSNI will flip to rock in Philly. Anyone know anything ????

if WJJZ does kill smooth jazz---- how long can the format last on WQCD and other stations ? smooth jazz seems to be a dying format right?

i hear that CD is also looking at alternatives....possible oldies, rock or gospel?

Nope, nope, nope.

CD is doing well these days. They'll probably leave it alone for a while. Smooth Jazz as a format has lost most of it's steam, but it's a good cluster member for Emmis.

They just got their "Headache" at 12Noon today (August 10th): http://www.phillys1061.com

When is Albany New York going to get a station like this?

It used to have that format though. The former WABT was Rhythmic AC but it didnt do well in the ratings.

104.5 The Beat

Now it is a Regents' 104.5 The Buzz and that is an 80s/Hot AC format.
