The lite is out at Clear Channel AC KLQT Lite 95.1 as they changed format today at 12pm Noon to CHR/Pop as The New Channel 95-1 All The Hits. This makes a third CHR/Pop station for Albuquerque as they already have 93.3 KOB-FM, OMG Radio 106.7 and the two Rhythmic/Chr's KiSS 97.3 and Power 106 KAGM.

Their AC Format..... did not do so well. But CHR? REALLY! WHAT ABOUT OLDIES, CC? ??? ???
ABQ now has the most CHRs (pop and rhythmic) of any market in the country. There are much larger markets with far fewer CHRs.
I noticed CC loves CHR and they launch the format regardless of the competitive landscape. But when the tables are turned and CC has a CHR monopoly (for example in Boston) often the other companies are too passive and afraid to challenge CC.

yep just what we need another CHR...they never did market lite so HOW were people to find out about it? Interesting to Note all the Bill boards all over twon for OMG and it got its lunch eaten by kiss again...Now we see tons of Billboards for power 106 to beat kob or peak you gotta tell people you are there. I was told that Lite had there Highest cume ever this last book which was higher than omg

I now stream my customized Internet stations from Pandora on my Kindle Fire.
Thenwhen I get tired of Pandora I crank out the IPOD with 10,000 plus tunes.
Once I get bored with that Its the old 8 track in the 505.
The local Radio gurus can keep playing format musical chairs,who cares?
