New Country Station Comming 1/26/09 To Salisbury/Ocean City.

Today I heard that Great Scott Broadcasting is once again flipping one of their stations. Yes 107.7 Joe FM will be going…..wait for it….Hot Country. Yes, just what this market need is another country station. (So how many country stations are there now, lets see… Froggy, Cat Country, Bay Country, WAAI, and WDSD.) On top of that it will be pumped in by satellite. So that means no new jobs for jocks. Also I’m sure that the owner will not spend any money to let people know there is a “NEW” station in the market. Remember “Sunny” or “Light Rock” same BS. Well good luck GSB, you’ll need it!

It's still "Joe FM". The audio sounds terrible, and they were silent for a while Saturday. It seems more country songs are in the playlist but I don't see how they could stack up against "Froggy" and "The Cat". I'd be willing to bet they will sound like "Country Joe"...and that's not too impressive. Perhaps a winning formula for them would be to play classic country, with the newest being from the 80's and 90's. It's just not possible to beat the two powerhouse stations, but with Classic Country you could hammer away at them and take chunks off their block. Just a thought. And for Pete Sake just switch already.
