New DX opportunity - 900 AM

Often, there are too many posts to sift through here-- long story; mea culpa -- so I figure this CHML thread is as good a place as any to pose a question.
Paul: Have you ever received CHML via that *back* lobe of theirs?
They were sending some grotesque white-hole ERP southeast, but that northeast box-cutter back had to've been going somewhere else. And that was no ordinary back lobe. That was juiced.

@Steve Green NEPA only 900's i ever heard here, based upon reccoleciton.. are KZPA, which carries KSKO programming, Hawaii and Mexico City

Nothing out of Asia on 900 at your location? The frequency is common to both the 9 and 10 kHz band plans. China has several dozen stations on 900, though the most powerful of those is 100kw. Lower powers used in other Asian countries, with the exception of one in India running 100kw.

If ive heard anything asian on 900 it was ujnderwhelming... KZPA takes the cake much of the time.. and really easy for me to verify its them, just tune over to 89.5!
 
Have any of you ever managed to score 150 watt KALI 900 AM from West Covina, California? It was formerly known as KGRB and was somewhat famous for having what I understood to be an eccentric owner and for stubbornly sticking to a big band and swing format right off the original 78 RPM records until about 1994.

It used to be a favored station of Johnny Carson who listened to it from his home in Malibu. I believe they had all of 500 watts back then, and stayed on at night in spite of 900 being a clear channel.
