New England Public Radio, WGBY-TV in Springfield to merge;

https://www.masslive.com/news/2019/...fforts-and-form-new-england-public-media.html

Note the operations for New England Public Radio will start in July. This affects WGBY, WFCR and WNNZ

The TV and radio operations will not combine ownership of all the broadcasting licenses, Miller and Hayes said.

The WGBH Educational Foundation will keep the broadcast license for WGBY, Hayes said. Miler said UMass will continue to hold the broadcast license for WFCR 88.5 FM and its repeaters. Repeaters are other frequencies that simulcast NEPR.

The NEPR Foundation will retain ownership of other radio licenses NEPR uses for a more news-heavy programming schedule, including WNNZ 640 AM in Westfield, Miller said.

NEPR and WGBY each have budgets of about $4.5 million. The combined operation will grow to about a $10 million a year, Miller said.

He said to expect to see and hear announcements on the air and in public soon. He said many people believed the two media operations were already linked.

I assume you mean New England Public Media. (NEPR already exists.) In either case, the economy of scale will probably benefit listeners and viewers alike. I imagine the merger would add a performance space for WFCR's musical programming, more local news coverage, and possibly a simulcast of the PBS NewsHour on WNNZ.
