NEW FAVE TV FROM SKY ANGEL (LOCALS + 76 OTHERS) VIA SET TOP INTERNET BOX

i'll wait until they add USA ,TBS ,ESPN ,TNT ,Spike ,Comedy Central ,MSNBC ,MTV ,TV One ,A&E ,History Channel and AMC.

It's not for everyone, but good to see another option in the marketplace

Sky Angel of course was once a satellite delivered package of programming, mostly religious. It switched to an internet distribution model in 2008.

In the satellite market it has been more or less replaced by GloryStar, which offers free-to-air satellite channels, also mostly religious. Viewer purchases the receiver.

I'm surprised that this service was able to score so many sports networks- NBC Sports Network, CBS Sports Network, MLB Network, NFL Network, NBA TV, Universal Sports, Outdoor Channel, etc.

Why can't anyone else develop a concept with the same idea but with the most popular cable channels? But then of course, data caps and ISPs would do anything to try to shut this concept down.

I give them a lot of credit for coming up with a half-way decent lineup of channels for the price.
I do note, it is probably the only other provider besides Fios to offer some of the .tv channels from
Byron Allen.

My one and only question is this ...

How many HD channels do you get?

:p :D ;)

Seriously, the 'sports pack' (sans Golf Channel, NHL Network, and perhaps Fox Soccer Channel to round out overall sports coverage) is the only thing that's broadly appealing about this service. Am I crazy (like a fox) to believe that's not entirely accidental?

EDIT: I just realized that FAVE TV has a 'seal of approval' from the Parents Television Council. That worries me--what happens if say NBC-SN, NFL Network or NBA TV goes with a reality show that they don't like? Does that channel get dropped?
