Usually, I put no stock in rumors, but these come from Radio-Info's own Tom Taylor - a very respected radio insider.

In the August 8 newsletter (accessible here: http://www.radio-info.com/newsletter/archive.php) he writes about Fisher's Bakersfield TV acquisition, and adds: "You can’t help wondering how much further Fisher will go with its selloff of radio. Are KVI, KOMO and KPLZ in Seattle safe?"

What does Tom know that we don't?

Tom's a great reporter and very respected, but i think his speculation is just that. Speculation. This rumor has been beaten to death for some time. This board has certainly had it's share of them too.

A decision to sell has so many issues that a stable legacy company like Fisher must take into consideration - not the least of which is that the three stations contribute significant cash flow to the Fisher organization. While Fisher isn't positioned to be a big radio player, these stations represent little opportunity cost for the company.
