NEW FRAN DRESCHER SITCOM ON TV LAND VERY LIKELY

They've done it again - almost 10 years after they co-created The Nanny, Fran Drescher and Peter Marc Jacobson are close to landing another comedy series starring the nasal-voiced actress. I hear TV Land is finalizing a series pickup for Drescher and Jacobsen's pilot, Happily Divorced. Based on Drescher's real life, it stars The Nanny alumna as a woman who re-enters the dating world after finding out her husband is gay and juggles her relationship with her current boyfriend and ex-husband. Drescher and Jacobsen are the writers/executive producers.

Great... First, Ricki Lake is going back to daytime TV, and now, Fran Drescher is getting another sitcom. It's the 90's all over again! Hey, when does O.J. go back on trial?

As for Ms. Drescher... I guess that talk show career of her own didn't pan out...
 
I can't afford cable. :(

On the other hand, her live-in boyfriend from her last network sitcom seems to be doing well these days. He's a surgeon and part-time CIA spy! Pretty "awesome" considering he didn't seem to have any brains on that show.
