--NEW-- JVC KD-HDR30 Price Break at $159 and 20 watts RMS X 4

JVC KD-HDR-30

JVC is bringing a new HD Radio Tuner with CD to the market. It's cheaper than the KD-HDR1 ($199) at $159, through discount houses like Crutchfield, for example.

The KD-HDR30 still has 20 watts RMS X 4. This HD model also adds Bluetooth compatibility.

What it doesn't have that the KH-HDR1 has, is No Remote, and, it comes with a 3-Band EQ, and not the 7-Band EQ.

Here's a Look at the Specs for the KD-HDR30

So, there it is....if you're looking to upgrade an older model car to a CD Player, you can do it with HD for $159.

Didn't one of the JVC or Pioneer HD auto radios NOT have the ability to decode the HD2 streams?

I don't know of a JVC HD Radio Tuner/Receiver that only decodes HD-1.

I know ther's a larger selection of HD Car Audio now.

Sony has a model and so so Dual, which has --12--AM Presets, along with the standard 18 FM Presets. Not that's what I go for, if I was looking to upgrade...but I already have purchased the JVC KD-HDR1. I do like the power, at 20 watts RMS X 4, which is more RMS wattage than the others. :)

Are there any models out yet that'll do HD but also do RDS on analog?

I have a JVC and it decodes HD-2 streams.

As for an HD Radio with RDS for analog, I have yet to find one.

I have only seen a couple car stereos that don't do HD that have RDS. Only a couple. I rarely find them at a story like Best Buy or Circuit City. There are few out there and they are hard to find and from what ive seen, the ones that do have RDS do NOT have HD.

Most recent GM factory car radios have RDS.

The Directed Electronics HD add-on tuner unit provides analog RDS and decent adjacent channel filtering, so it's a great FM analog tuner (now the bad: AM bites, bad narrow bandwidth for analog, no stereo, no indicators for analog anything, distorted output on RCA jacks, gets hot...) -BUT, the good part is very nice analog FM with RDS if you use the built-in FM modulator; close, but no cigar.
