New Log 11/14/14 w/ great conditions to the east!

FANTASTIC late evening cx to the east! One new log so far.

1560 - KKAA Aberdeen, SD; heard under KVAN on the 3-ft loop with "This is Family Radio" ID at 2259 PT 11/14. Only Family Radio station on 1560. NEW #652, 10KW, 1060 miles. KNZR also heard underneath, but barely as loop was pointed ENE/WSW at the time.

1570 has also been LOADED with activity. Just last hour - and very little XERF!
10:05PM - fadeup "...USA Radio News Correspondent" and mention of Obama administration - likely Hollister MO
10:09PM - weak fadeup with what sounded like 1950s standards, not SS so prob not XERF.
10:22PM - Unid country station fading up. ANYTHING with that format is flea power and over 1200 miles from here! "Boondocks" Little Big Town heard. No stream on KMCD-IA, KNDY-KS negative. No stream on WFLR NY or the KYs, or WTRB TN. No idea who this was, but it was GOOD no matter what!
10:30PM - Fadeup mentioning Thanksgiving and inspiration. Prob Bott's KBCV again
10:56PM - KPIO Loveland, CO (99% sure, and 12 watts!!) w/ EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network mention. Has faded, so likely was on 12 watts. Definitely flea power there!
(tuned to 1560 for KKAA, then)
11:01PM - KBCV Hollister, MO confirmed with "Bott Radio Network" ID and into religious program.

1220 is CJRB-MB dominating, 740 CFZM is good under KCBS, Chicago 720/780 huge. Also unid with music under KYIZ on 1620, likely WDND South Bend. Will check X-Band later, still on 1570!

This was probably the biggest MW DX night I've had this season so far! Continuing after 11PM TOH...

11:25PM - 1650 KYHN Fort Smith, AR; under KBJD-CO with Red Eye Radio, only match on this frequency.
11:27PM - 1660 KQWB West Fargo, ND brief with "Maybe it was Memphis" Pam Tillis
11:28PM - 1570 KBCV Hollister, MO again with 103.9 mention, no it wasn't Pennsylvania
11:38PM - 1590 KVGB Great Bend, KS strong ID "Coast to Coast AM on 1590 KVGB" 1243mi and sounding VG for that distance
11:58-12AM - many more KBCV and Bott mentions on 1570
12:00AM - This may be the big one. 1570, unid with call sign ending in B, or T, or D, with CBS News at the top of the hour. The only CBS 1570s I see on Topazdesigns are WGLL in Indiana with about 150W, and WTRB Ripley, TN with a heart stopping 53 watts. Could THAT be the country station I was hearing?!?! Still need REALLY good ears to hear the clip, but if I can get some more material pulled out of the jumble, it would be great.

Then a REAL heart stopper at 1AM!!
1660 - WBCN Charlotte, NC!!!; CBS Sports right on top of the jumble E-W for about 5 minutes with Wall & Associates ad, Wave Home Solutions, etc. ID "CBS Sports 1660" at 0057 PT (this recorded), 855-212-4CBS mentioned, TOH ID at 0100 PT (unfortunately NOT recorded) mentioned WBCN AM, WKQC-HD3 104.7 Charlotte. NEW #653, 1000 W, 2,187 miles!! This is new state #27, and is my first EVER state that is on the Atlantic Seaboard! I've gotten Cuba countless times, but never a U.S. state on the Atlantic Ocean. I never expected this - I thought maybe it was Kalamazoo which would also be new. NEVER expected this! I suppose dreams do come true ;)

1:07AM - 1510 KCKK Littleton, CO as well; under KGA with ID "93.7 FM and AM 1510" in and out of classic hits music. NEW #654, 25KW (Directional Pattern), 920 miles. Needed for a long time - finally got it.

Other 1-1:15AM logs
1570 KBCV-MO still, like a semi local, BAREFOOT at times! At 1,561 miles and 3KW it's shocking how this signal does at times.
1250 KNEU-UT with Garth Brooks under Seattle
1220 KHTS Canyon Country, CA with local ads "Most Music Hour on Your Hometown Station, 1220 KHTS" at 0116 PT. Tried 1220 throughout the evening for more LPers and REALLY needed KDDR-ND on 327W, but only heard that pest KPJC, this other common one, and CJRB with classical. 1570 was much better for possible LPers.
1550 ttKMRI West Valley City, UT with Spa music in jumble, would be about 350 watts.

Looks like I switched off my radio a bit early. Congrats on North Carolina. Maybe it's a harbinger of good DX as this season progresses...
