New Low power move to charlotte and would like to say hi

As someone living in south FL, our OP might meet with less resistance here*, especially if he spoke Haitian/Creole.... ;)

That being said, somebody linked this site for me, and it would do our OP good to bookmark this site, like I have:

http://transition.fcc.gov/eb/sed/ulo.html

[*no, I do not operate a station.]

well well well it funie how i have to reject my opening statement of a family friendly forum. "smh" The only thing i have witness is negative statement and background check of the station i work for, and yall running background check like i'm trying to get a job from ya. (lol) and it kinda of fun to know, that most of the member of this forum label the station a underground station, and none of you still don't know nothing about the station, also member have call our commercial fake like y'all know everything ;D , but it kool if y'all feel that the station i work is underground , not real fake or what every, then so be it, but to be a new low power fm moving to this market most of you would'nt have the new info from the FCC yet any way. So call us what you want but i will that person that will still be here when you have to post that i was wrong statement. [EDIT]
In closing thank you and your for the background check and the hateraid , the dirt throwing and all that you think of our station. I was looking forward to learning and meeting the people in the market but most of you kinda make not wanna meet y'all the way you showed your negative kiss my butt you are not real run us outta town hater talk. No i'm not upset so don't think that. But i have learn the way the south thinks when something or someone comes along new instead of saying welcome you do the opposite. Well i got to go back to learn this business hater market that i now live in. O yea go get some more fake business commercial from coke , and other venders in the Charlotte market as Steve stated until the next time.

Wow, Mr. HD (704djs)!

As far as learning, you need to "reboot". You need to go back to school and learn about capitalizing letters, spelling, punctuation, sentence construction-all of those things that you obviously missed the first time around.

It's clear from your rant, that your problem is more than simply typing on an I-phone keypad. You need some serious help, especially if you expect to climb the corporate ladder at Sheldon Broadcasting.

No hate here! Just facts! Good luck!

Uh, you're on a forum containing a significant number of people who are quite familiar with FCC regulations & procedures.

- Yes, we'd have the new info. It takes *years* to license a new station, and the entire process is public. FCC records are easily available online (http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/fmq.html). They show nothing authorized on 94.5 or 94.7 anywhere within 130km (about 80 miles) of Charlotte. Indeed, they don't even show any *applications* for new stations within 130km of Charlotte.

Quite clearly, there will be no legal station on 94.5 or 94.7 in Charlotte anytime in *at least* the next year and probably quite a bit longer -- if ever.

- LPFM stations may not be moved more than 5.6km. (that's a bit less than 4 miles) Well, they can, but only as a "major change" which is only possible during "filing windows". There hasn't been a filing window for LPFM in years. And if your LPFM did have a permit to move from outside the Charlotte area, that permit would appear in the FCC records. It doesn't.

I agree with this. The OP's expectations were not set from the start of this post. Considering all of the grammatical errors, I wasn't even sure if we were talking to a person at first, or if it was a spambot coming on and trying to bring our attention to this station. The post was surely successful on the latter. Steve.

I love drinking "hateraid"

Goes down smooth..always a crisp clean finish!

Those of us "in the south" should be more welcoming to these guys. I am ashamed of us.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I'm not here to fuss nor here to show disrespect to none of you. I'm very educated but I've been using short hand and other little tricks of the trade that some of you have yet to see.But we thank you for your support and we should be doing a notification to the public soon. I was told by my boss who also seen the post that being rude to people in the same business your in is not how you make friends with them. So i would to say I'm sorry for being disrespectful and rude to the one who have laid the path for a young man like me. Thank you and hope to meet some of you in person. I hope i don't make a ass out of myself then (lol). thank you and
Happy Thanksgiving

??? I have no words to express what I have read in this thread!!!

94.7 is WQDR, Raleigh. Don Curtis would be very interested to know if someone in Charlotte is running a pirate operation that could potentially present interference to one of his highest billing stations.

to all the music folk in the charlotte area we would like to say hey to everyone hope to get to meet some of yall if not all of yall,
My Name is Mr H D or HD, i would like to say we will be broadcast on 94.7 in the charlotte market format hip hop R N B and soul , as well as independent music from the community of the queen city.

this is a nice radio community from what i've read and seen, you rarely see suppose in the radio market but this site shows it

Actually, technically speaking a LPFM, Translator or maybe even a class A FM could be put on 94.7 in Charlotte without a problem, if it wasn’t for a Class C FM already being on 95.1. WNKS is licensed to Charlotte and 94.7 being their second adjacent frequency.

That's a pretty big "if":)

Current rules prohibit a Class A allotment within 95km (59mi.) of a 2nd-adjacent Class C.

It would certainly appear a translator would be possible. There aren't any on file right now, and there's a moratorium on filing new ones. The FCC is not likely to open a translator filing window at any time within the next year.

The FCC's LPFM Finder does show 94.7 will be suitable for a LPFM in Charlotte. (at the coordinates listed for Charlotte on Wikipedia, the FCC's reference coordinates database doesn't seem to be working right now) (93.1 and 107.5 are also listed as suitable) It wasn't originally, but the new rules adopted last week remove the 2nd-adjacent limits for LPFM, making WNKS no longer a problem. There are stricter interference mitigation requirements.

But again, there are no applications on file *right now*. There will be a LPFM filing window in about eleven months; that's the earliest a new LPFM could possibly be authorized in Charlotte. In practice it will take the FCC several months to sort through the hundreds if not thousands of applications that are likely to be filed, especially for large cities like Charlotte. So it will be **at least** a year before a permit exists for a 94.7 LPFM. Probably quite a bit longer.

There just isn't room for all of us to have our own radio station.

That is why there are the Internets.

I hear ya, somehow it's just not the same. It's hard to stand out on the internet (although you do have better coverage).

Good afternoon
Once the F C C updated it's system you should have all the info you are looking for about the station. There has been a filing windows issue for September or October can't recall right now, that was told to us from our lawyer Cox outta Raleigh, he stated that in a meeting. We have file all paper work and our permit are in place, Once the certification of the change of ownership is completed you should be able to look up Google what you need to know with out hearing it from me. Once again thank you for your support

Good luck with 10 watts overcoming WQDR when it comes plowing in here when there is E-skip in the summer. It's not going to be pretty.
