New "Old" Philadelphia Airchexx - WRCP, WSNI, WFIL...

I finally started digging through those old boxes of aircheck cassettes in the basement, and started donating a few from the archives to Airchexx. Thanks to Steve West for posting them. The very first real aircheck I ever taped as a kid with my new Christmas tape recorder is there - Shelly Davis with a segment of the countdown of the WRCP country hits of 1969 from early January 1, 1970. 1969 was the 2nd year of the format, and they had already gone from the 1967 original "western" style jingles ("Ride with WRCP, Real Country Power", fashioned after the Marlboro man tv ads) to a modern country jingle package under PD Don Paul.

Also on Airchexx is a small clip of Hy Lit doing Adult Contemporary on WSNI 1984, Dan Donovan's first day of his brief return from Minneapolis to WFIL in 1984, and the brief WSNI-AM "Philly 15- All Beatles & Motown" format which PD Don Cannon tried out for about 6 months in 1983-1984.

There should be more to come, so check the Airchexx link above, then select Philadelphia to hear them. Be sure to add your comments, too, to help get more Philadelphia airchecks added. I'll be glad to send more from the '70's & '80's if there's a positive response. Enjoy!
