New Ratings book proves WYAY-FM True Oldies 106.7 is a ratings winner

Oh! Well, WOGL-FM is the No. 2 station in Philly 6+ (yes, they do people meters for ages 6 up, not 12 up as in the paper diaries). It's behind only the soft rock station WBEB-FM. It is doing at least 40% better than it did in the paper diary days.

Kabrich I would be interested in knowing if any other stations had quirks in their books during August like Tru oldies, i.e. did that one month blip come at the expense of a couple of stations?

In my personal opinion, I think the entire book is a joke and anyone that makes any true conclusions off any of it is very foolish - but of course that will not stop people from doing it - so I if people want to treat it as reality, I am happy to point out how well stations did and how poorly others did too. As for me, I dismissed the entire Summer Book in August after seeing the heavy weighting that happened when the first month, July, came out.

Fact is Atlanta went to PPM measurement over 4 weeks ago now - and these rankers mean nothing any longer. The fact that so many board experts are convinced of all these master plans for format changes are in the works (using a road map that is no longer valid) is just comical. Compound that with the fact that most likely Arbitron just let the diary sample go straight to Hell in Atlanta for the last Quarter and you get an entire book that isnt worth the energy it takes to compose this post.

I do not listen to Imus , an I will not listen to him.I will listen to 106.7 up to 6am,then after 9am I will start back listening to it.The Oldies are great keep up the good job.TMAN

Watch what happens to morning drive with the PPM numbers. Morning shows will lose audience and TSL. Morning drive will appear to start later and afternoon drive will become the new critical cash programming.

Why?

Because the rediculously small sample of PPM holders will not sleep with them, will not have them nearby when the alarm goes off, will not shower with them or get dressed with them. Sampling will not be activated and measured until they pick up the ugly little black box next to their cell phone on the way out the door, costing radio over a hour or more each weekday, representing a dramatic shift in listening that will actually not be true. The end result is another round of firing of morning shows because they "can't compete in a PPM world."

Check out what happened in Houston and Philly.....

Sad how we turned our business over to these greedy little offspring of female canines.
