Long-time lurker here, and I wanted to let you all know about a new shortwave radio program, Postcard Panorama, in case you'd be interested in sharing your stories with us. I've enjoyed reading about dxing here, which I haven't been able to do myself for a while given the noise and crowded MW and FM bands where I live....
Postcard Panorama is a listener mailbag show with a twist. Rather than focusing on a broadcaster or program, we're seeking stories that relate to monthly themes. Our aim is to find the common threads among radio enthusiasts' stories. I have a couple examples up on our website already for the January episode, for which the theme is "In with the New." While the program will be broadcast on shortwave, we welcome stories about any aspect of radio. I'd be happy to have more stories about dxing MW and FM in particular.
For this episode, we're looking for your radio origin stories, how you got into radio, or how you're helping others get into the hobby. You can share your plans for the new year, too. Themes can be interpreted pretty loosely. Submissions must be received at our website by 12/15 for the January show.
Thanks again for your posts here. I was dxing in HS and college before I knew there was a term for it, and one day, I'll get somewhere quiet to be able to join in the hobby again....
