Going to Rutland next weekend; checking the VPR site to see if My Place is still on, and it is. I also
noticed they are trying to protest (letter of objection to the CRTC) a proposed station just across the line in the Eastern Townships of
Quebec. I guess it's at 107.7 and would make it tougher for these people to pick up WVPS 107.9

"we're pleased that dozens of Canadian citizens have filed comments in opposition to the proposed Corus station at 107.7fm, and others have telephoned their displeasure...VPR has also filed a formal petition to the CRTC."
There are links to stories from Montreal and Sherbrooke papers. The Sherbrooke paper quotes a Canadian
woman as saying she enjoys hearing VPR because it gives her an American perspective on things.
Montreal Gazette: "French-language news-talk radio station CHLT-FM, located in Sherbrooke and owned by Toronto-based Corus Entertainment, has asked the CRTC to change its frequency from 102.1 FM to 107.7 FM. That's right next door to VPR's station WVPS, which broadcasts at 107.9 FM. CHLT has also asked for an increase to its power so it can cover a greater area."

The Gazette article says some listeners in Derby, North Troy, and Newport could be affected too!
