new station in miami? 90.3 fm dance format from 70's 80's and 90's in west dade

Most likely a pirate. I doubt an LPFM would be allowed on first adjacent frequency to local service contour of 90.5 WVUM.

True West Dade is the Everglades... unless you mean the zone to the west of the turnpike and to the east of Krome. Sweetwater, perhaps?

Not to mention WYBP on 90.3 in FLL. Let's also throw in the Channel 6 TV station that would take a miracle to get an LPFM in there.

Miami is a pirate paradise. #ARRR

I'm in Northwest Miami-Dade... the signal was not even reachable on either my Midland Weather Radio or my Sangean HDR-14.

Everglades? So are you implying that they should have a format that appeals to alligators and non-native pythons?
Mostly to mosquitos.

I try to forget them. I just remember how large they were when I was a kid down there and how they almost drained me of blood.

They ain't got nothing on the Alaska skeeters!

Those are the ones that the FAA requires to have painted with registration numbers on their wings!

Probably another pirate. 97.1 was rap and 90.3 is EDM pirate. Maybe Evolution the legitimate one will get this station off the air. 97.3 might also try to get this station off too since they play some 90s EDM titles. Most of the pirates in NYC are Spanish and the legitimate Spanish language stations always have to deal with this. Is 97.1 still playing rap or did they get that pirate off the air?

For some reason (15+ years ago) 97.1 was a favorite frequency for pirates in South Florida…which is unusual considering one can receive WFLC very well just one click up the dial!
