Anybody else notice the new station in Winchester on 990 AM and translator W275CO on 102.9? It broadcasts an adult contemporary/easy listening format focusing on "lite favorites" from the 70s through today. The music selection actually sounds pretty good. I also noticed it broadcasts the same satellite-fed music service as 106.1 WMOR in Morehead. It's owned by Gateway Radio Works, the same group that owns WKYN and WMST. The AM signal on 990 is rock solid in Lexington and it sounds like it's been engineered quite well; The audio quality certainly isn't lacking for an AM station broadcasting music. The FM translator on 102.9 fights for dominance with WPBK depending on where you are in Lexington, but one or the other seems to always be present.
