"New wave of radio choices: Satellite or HD?" LA Times

"New wave of radio choices: Satellite or HD?" LA Times

"But for many potential buyers, the choice of XM versus Sirius won't be made in an electronics shop or online. It won't even be based on which service might be preferable. More and more, when people buy a car it will come with satellite radio, Kidd said. Within two years, according to announcements made by car manufacturers, 30% to 50% of new autos on lots will have the radios installed. The major automakers all have deals with the satellite services. Honda Motor Co. and General Motors Corp., for example, have exclusives with XM. Toyota Motor Corp. and Ford Motor Co. install only Sirius. The decision will be simple, Kidd said. People will take what comes with the car."

:D

Gee, Pocket, you left out all of the positive comments about HD. In fact, you left out everything about HD in the entire article.

Not that that indicates any bias on your part, of course, but did you mean to put your message under a different topic than HD if you weren't going to quote anything about HD?

Just askin'.

He must be right, on the other hand why is XM & Sirius stock nearly worthless? Must be all those subscriber they're attracting.

At least, auto manufacturers are giving Satellite Radio a chance, unlike HD Radio ! :D

They are, because of the subsidizing by the satellite radio companies.

(Your line of thought, Pocket, and the article you selectively quote would be really appropriate in one of the satellite radio topics, wouldn't you say?)

Ya know, the selective quoting and the failure to do even the slightest amount of research on your part is really getting annoying. It's been posted here numerous times (at least once by me) that the satellite radio companies are spiffing the car manufacturers by making most of them marketing partners. iBiquity and the HD Radio manufacturers have yet to do anything resembling that...and until they do, the HD Radio roll-out in cars will be slower than molasses. With the right amounts of money greasing the right palms, anything is possible. It's not a matter of "giving Satellite Radio a chance" and not giving HD a chance. Follow the money.

Next time, try learning the facts...ALL the facts...before you post.
