New weather network 'WeatherNation' to debut later this year

A little from column A, a little from column B. There are time periods where people aren't tuning in, and those that do drop in and out quickly. Not a recipe for bringing in enough revenue to cover the costs. So you add shows that tend to keep eyeballs longer, and actually sell advertising. Fairly simple.

Will this new channel have local forecasts?

The way TWC does it is the only sensible way, and I think they hold patents for it. (In fact, for almost 30 years now, a computer at the cable headend has delivered the local forecast overlaid on top of the TWC feed. It's gotten slicker over the years as well.)

one thing that they could do, and yes I am a weather nerd. Is have weather shows along with the forcasts. Not that silly crap twc airs.

1. A weather talk show with head meteorologist, they could debate the forcast that the weather computer models put out.
2. A show that viewer could write in and ask questions about current weather.
3. A show that shows viewers weather tech and forcasting equipment.
add in some interesting on air talent, that will make the weather forcast and storm coverage fun to watch they could do alright.
