New York HD Radio Should be at least Voice Tracked

I think some of the HD 2 stations should at least be voice tracked, other areas are doing this already. For example WTRY HD 2 in Albany NY has a DJ on that sounds like its voice tracked. Anyone think we will ever see live local radio on HD ?

As soon as HD sub-channels, like all commercial stations, are a sellable commodity ... and make some money to employ live jocks / personalities. Same with voice tracking. Someone has to pay the bill and so far, the expectations of HD radio have been woefully short with audiences not buying the radios.

Someone has to "pay the freight" and that would be advertisers, who won't buy without an audience level that assures them of a relative return-on-investment. That's the business of radio.

Until there is a stronger indication of a greater number of HD radios, those subchannels will continue to be a vast wasteland.

There are Internet stations that are voicetracked all day long. Then again, those stations have more listeners than the total number of HD radios in the market.

I strongly believe that NO radio should be voice tracked. I just takes away peoples jobs (which IS the current problem right?) Sometimes we MUST see past the economic savings, because it is currently destroying our country. Whatever the defenders may say, Humans are being replaced, so how much more will it take before we see past wall street numbers, 10%, 15%, 20%, National riots? Radio just shows one example of why there are more jobless. The bottom line is all that matters now. My parents generation, loyalty, respect, and seniority were priority, and as a result you got talent, productivity, and loyal workers.

My generation (In their 20's) has absolutely NO loyalty to corporate world, and I fear we are the lost generation in that respect after witnessing how our parents were betrayed. Most of my friends couldn't care less about who they work for, and would happily switch from job to job, have absolutely NO trust in contracts, promises, (remember "pensions") "nice bosses", and most would back stab their friendly employers in a heartbeat if it meant personal gain, or proving a point. The trust is gone. Voice tracking will just continue that trend, more unemployed.

Guess what, there really is a limit to efficiency/productivity...Its called "no more humans" Question, how close will we get, and many will we kill in starvation, riots, conflict, and war, to reach that efficiency?
