Z100 2-2-2 in demos.
KTU has cooled off.
WKTU is just wobbling. That is why ad agencies buy averages of at least 4 and sometimes 6 or more months.

WBGO (0.6) and WFUV (0.4) are doing poorly in the ratings. Is it still true that only 7% of listeners to not-for-profit stations donate? Both stations are slipping in the ratings.

No surprise, at least for WFUV.

I've said it before. WFUV's music mix is a dog's breakfast, the hosts are boring and/or abrasive, and its signal sucks over large portions of the market, especially the NJ suburbs. It's not a great AAA station, and I say that as someone who likes a well-executed AAA format.

Some things I noticed recently in regards to WCBS-FM as it continues to tweak its image: the imaging/VO has changed to a much younger sounding voice, the same voice KRTH and WOGL has been using, and the station now sounds inline with KRTH, WOGL, KOOL, etc. Still pretty jingle heavy compared to the other Audacy classic hits stations, with them using a new package from Reelworld.

Additionally, it has seemingly dropped the "New York's Greatest Hits" positioning after 16 years, and is running liners like "playing the songs that New York loves" and similar statements like that. I haven't listened much to KRTH or the "Big" stations lately, but to me, the positioning sounds a bit closer to an AC presentation. Music mix still is predominantly 80's, and hasn't tweaked much since a few months ago when more 90's and 2000's were added.

That's about the average. which is why so many non-coms rely on corporate donors and endowments.

I'm told WBGO gets a lot of non-metro listening on it's stream, and they attract a lot of donations that way.

Remember, when a station is generally at or below the 1 share point, variations of as much as 0.5 are normal and within the margin of error. A 0.5 is a 1.1 is a 0.8 and so on.

Both of those stations tend to bounce around a lot.

Every format will have a different percentage of the their audience as donors. It depends on age, income levels, passion and a lot of other factors.

I have no current recall of WBGO or WFUV. But vis a vis listener-supported radio : The market is not New York. But Philadelphia proper is actually the same size of Queens NYC in area and population. Lots of people.
An eye-opener in Philly has been the last four books for Temple Univ's WRTI.
1.3 ....1.8 .... 2.0 .... 2.2.
Not bad for a station that's half-Classical and half-Jazz.
Perhaps more than 7% of their listeners contribute. And/or maybe the reach of WRTI's 11 translator stations helps defray the cost of the turntable styli (I get their jazz off 99.1 from Pottsville PA).. Whatever the factor(s), listener supported half-breed WRTI's recent 2.2 is right there in the ballpark with two huge-signal FMs -- one of them being the city's long-CHR occupant station, iHeart's WIOQ.

The population of Queens is 2.4 million and 1.5 in Philadelphia. Queens is much bigger

The Philadelphia Metro Survey Area is 5.5 million.

@ Jeffrey
Yup. I mentioned the two places for comparison because I lived in both places 'back when' -- and because the architecture in a few places (NE Philly, Flushing Queens) is almost identical.
And back then both places were doing the same sort of general 2,000,000 residents.
