New York Mets will not be radio in upstate New York

I used to DX and listen to out of market games; I remember when growing up in NJ hearing Cubs games on WGN and White Sox games on WCFL, KMOX had the Cardinals, etc. I even picked up a few weekday games in the summer on Armed Forces Radio (SW). TODAY DX is passe for hearing games

Yet C Crane still stuffs my mailbox with adds peddling DX-friendly radios for this very purpose.

CCrane serves a microscopic niche of consumers. I'm sure most of their buyers know that baseball on 50 kilowatt flame throwers is becoming passe, but as we all know, a sucker is born every minute, so it can't hurt them to push their radios as the gateway to a diial teeming with free baseball play-by-play. Exaggeration and deception are time-honored traditions in the ad game, so why not bait the hook and see if anyone bites?

Forgot to turn on the Sarcasm lamp;;; SOOOO I'm in Orange County, California but I follow the Angels and Mets. So last night I wanted to tune in to the Mets-Marlins game for my drive home. I get in my late model car, cell phone in hand. It automatically connects the Bluetooth (no buttons to push other than the ignition button). Then I look at my cell phone, the "At Bat" app is on the first screen so I put my finger on it to launch the app. On the lower left of the first screen I see is the "Scores" button. I put my finger on that and the Mets game line score appears, I put my finger on "Audio" and then select the Mets game (WCBS is already playing as a default, if I wanted to hear the opponents' team announcers I can select that.) I start hearing the game on my car's speakers. (I just replicated my motions and timed it..... about 15-20 seconds). Yep a lot of work all those buttons are confusing I know. (condescension mode now turned off)

The length of your post just made my point for me. Thanks again.
